A programme of recent British video art from LUX, a London-based agency for artists’ moving images. LUX holds the largest collection of artists’ films and videos in Europe, which it makes available for screenings and exhibitions around the world. In addition, LUX organises a wide variety of exhibition projects and regularly publishes books and DVDs, as well as providing support and resources for artists, curators and researchers. Sebastian Buerkner, author of the video "Realms Pin" will attend the screenings in Riga and Liepaja. Sebastian studied painting in Germany then moved to London to complete his fine art education with an MA at Chelsea College of Art & Design in 2002, where he was awarded a Fellowship Residency the following year. His work has been exhibited in several group and solo shows internationally. Since 2004 his art practice has shifted exclusively to animation. He has had solo exhibitions in London at the Lounge Gallery in 2006 and the Whitechapel Project Space in 2007 and The Showroom in 2008.

Impakt is the annual festival for idiosyncratic and innovative media art in Utrecht, the Netherlands Impakt Touring Programs offers an overview of the most remarkable new productions by young artists from all over the world. “Impakt Highlights: Second Nature”: Humans and animals are sometimes no more than an inch apart. Literally, because they share habitats, or figuratively, because some people behave like animals and animals sometimes have human characteristics.

Unlike the other programmes this one will focus on classics. The Viennese DVD label for experimental film INDEX DVD will offer two programmes which will be introduced by Isabelle Piechaczyk:
- Glimpses of INDEX. Selection of shorts from Kurt Kren to Dariusz Kowalski (77min)
- No Danube. Kurt Kren and his films. Documentary (dir. Hans Scheugl) (55min)
Additionally there will be possibility for video-on-demand screenings of the other masters of Austrian avant-garde in the library of LCCA (12-6PM):

The EMAF (European Media Art Festival) is one of the most influential forums of international Media Art. As a meeting point for artists, curators, lenders, gallery owners and an audience of specialists, the festival has had a great impact on the topic and aesthetics of Media Art. Each year the festival offers its visitors a current overview of experimental films, installations, performances, digital formats and hybrid forms, ranging from personal and political subjects or formal experiments to provocative statements.
The screening programme will introduce to the best works from the festival of 2008.
