Hardijs Lediņš Year

Latvian Centre for Contemporary Art (LCCA) has concluded work on the archival studies of artists Hardijs Lediņš (1955-2004) and Juris Boiko (1954-2002) and as a result has released a voluminous book in Latvian and English, dedicated to the creative collaboration of both artists and the Workshop for the Restoration of Unfelt Feelings (Latvian abbreviation - NSRD) in the 1980s.

Hardijs Lediņš Year

A retrospective of Hardijs Lediņš’ creative practice and his influences ‘Lediņš. Between This And The Other’ will open to public on 13 November at the exhibition hall of the National Library of Latvia. It resonates with the spirit of Approximate Exhibitions organised by Lediņš and his confederates by focusing on process driven art forms in particular. Several artist performances will also take place as part of this exhibition. The exhibition has been organised by the Latvian Centre for Contemporary Art, its curator – Līga Lindenbauma.

Reconstruction of the performance Dr. Eneser’s Binocular Dance Classes

Hardijs Lediņš Year

The reconstruction of the legendary NSRD performance Dr. Enesera Binokulāro deju kursi (Dr. Eneser’s Binocular Dance Classes), which has been organised by the LCCA in commemoration of 2015 as the Year of Hardijs Lediņš, will take place on Saturday 28 March at the Botanical Garden of the Latvian University. The day will commence with creative workshops for children and adults and culminate in four dance lessons and a video performance. A specially curated exhibition Easterneye-Westerneye will be open to the public in the foyer of the Palm House at the Botanical Garden from 21 March until 7 April.

The “Zuu-zaa ti-ti-ti” concert dedicated to NSRD

The concert “Zuu-zaa ti-ti-ti,” which is devoted to celebrating the group NSRD, will take place on Friday, 27 February at 7 PM at Riga’s St Saviour’s Anglican Church (Pils Street 11) in the framework of the Year of Hardijs Lediņš. The songs of multi-media artist Hardijs Lediņš and the experimental art and music group NSRD will be played accompanied by the group Nebijušā restauratori (Unprecented Restaurators), along with Roberts Gobziņš together with the grup Resnie putni. The music will be accompanied by a video from artist Ineta Sipunova.
